3 Things Movies Predict Will Happen This Year

Most would probably agree that 2016 was a pretty terrible year and 2017 couldn’t possibly be much worse. Only time will tell, but meanwhile, we can look to films to see how they thought 2017 would pan out.

Here’s what films think will definitely happen this year:

1. Arnold Schwarzenegger faces 2017’s version of the Hunger Games.

The Running Man (1987) had a go at predicting what it would be like 30 years into the future and it probably wasn’t too far off.

Set in 2017, convicted criminals can become contestants on the TV show ‘The Running Man’ to try and earn their freedom.

The contestants are pitted against futuristic gladiators in a series of fight-to-the-death challenges.

What’s probably scarier than this is the costumes that were used in the film.

Let’s hope that doesn’t make it to 2017.

2. Albus Severus Potter goes to school.

The epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is set in 2017 so Hogwarts can look forward to teaching the son of the Chosen One, as well as yet another Weasley.

Harry has set the bar high for the young Albus Severus Potter.

Will he be able to top defeating Voldemort, a Mountain Troll and making the Gryffindor Quidditch team all in his first year? Find out this 2017.

3. Skynet is at it again.

In Terminator Genisys, Sarah Connor, with the help of Arnold Schwarzenegger, travels from 1984 to 2017 to stop Skynet from taking over.

Thankfully they succeed and prevent technologies rise to power for this year.

However unfortunately in 2018, Terminator Salvation predicts a post-apocalyptic world in which most of the human race has already been wiped out by robots, so at least that’s something to look forward to.

With what seems to be a new iOS update each week, it’s only a matter of time until Applenet takes over…
