Sheffield’s Best Beer Houses

Sheffield now has eight pubs recognised by the council as being an ‘Asset to Community’. The White Lion was awarded the title, and so we thought we should run you through what we think are the best beer houses in Sheffield city centre.

The Sheffield Tap

The Sheffield Tap bar.

Located in the train station, The Tap is an Edwardian style beer house with the widest range of beers in Sheffield. Rare lagers, ales, and stouts are available and with the venue being a simply beautiful building you can spend a few too many hours in there. Just don’t forget to bring your wallet as some of the rarer beers can be rather pricey.

Beer Central

With great beers and great service, they’ve gathered a loyal following.

Although technically a shop and not a beer house, Beer Central has an almost overwhelming range of beers for you to take away. Struggling for Christmas presents? Drop in and get a few bottles and a glass, you can’t go wrong. FUN FACT: It’s believed to be the smallest bottle shop in the country.
